Labfil Nylon filter devices are designed for sterilization and clarification of aqueous and solvent samples in a wide array of analytical and research applications. They are primarily used to filter small aqueous and organic samples with low hold-up volume in order to inject them directly into the HPLC sample loop systems.

How to use a syringe filter?

1. Select the Right Filter:
Membrane Type: Ensure compatibility with your sample (e.g., PTFE for organic solvents, PES for aqueous solutions).
Pore Size: Choose the appropriate pore size (commonly 0.22 µm or 0.45 µm).

2. Prepare the Syringe:
Attach the syringe filter to the syringe securely.
Ensure both are sterile if required.

3. Draw the Sample:
Fill the syringe with the sample, avoiding air bubbles.

4. Filter the Sample:
Hold the syringe with the filter attached.
Press the plunger gently to pass the sample through the filter into a clean container.

5. Post-Filtering:
Ensure the entire sample has been filtered.
Dispose of the used filter according to your lab’s guidelines.

Tips:
Apply steady pressure to avoid damaging the filter.
Pre-filter or centrifuge samples if clogging occurs.
